A stone-built villa arranged over two floors, Il Bacio is set in attractive gardens with wonderful views of the rolling countryside. It comes with a cute single-storey cottage, too, offering extra privacy for one or two guests among your party of 8-10. For a taste of local life, the village of Ciggiana is within walking distance. Or, the walled hilltop town of Cortona and the historic city of Arezzo, with its goldsmithing heritage, promise diverting day trips. Sporty types might also like to arrange to use the owner’s tennis court, a short distance away.
The large private pool is just the place for you all to reconvene later. In fact, if you love outdoor living, this property will be perfect – both the main house and the cottage have pergola-shaded terraces furnished for al-fresco dining and the huge gardens offer plenty of space for everyone to relax in. So, pull up a lounger and take in the views, with something refreshing in hand. Inside, the décor is traditionally Tuscan, with terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings, complemented by comfortable furnishings throughout – a place to hunker down on those chillier evenings.
The owner provides a free welcome buffet for guests on arrival. The owner and two family members live in one side of the main house, with a private entrance. They do not use the swimming pool when there are guests staying. There is a cat that lives on site.
