A comfortable and peaceful retreat nestled in the foothills of the coast range. | House in McMinnville
3 Bedroom House in McMinnville
Step out of your vehicle and take it all in: The smell of the Douglas Fir trees, the raspy call of a Steller’s Jay, the buzzing of an Anna’s Hummingbird as it nears the porch feeder. Feel the gentle chill of a soft breeze - one that sends the forest into motion.
This is your Eagle Point Retreat. The initial moments might be enough to entice you to flip on the outdoor heater and stay rooted to the porch - in silence or in conversation - and bask in the beauty of it all.
Please linger out front, but make sure to wander to the back deck. Sip a glass of Oregon Pinot Noir while watching the deer wander below. See the setting sun offer up a radiant display as it drifts below the Coast Range foothills. This is the Pacific Northwest experience you’ve been yearning for. A retreat indeed.
Nearly every room in the house is equipped with an essential oil diffuser - with a variety of Young Living oils available to enhance your stay.
There are three upstairs bedrooms and a pull-out couch downstairs - ample space for a family of six or a gathering of friends.
Every bedroom has closet space, while the master bedroom has an attached full bath. The other two bedrooms share access to a full bath in the upstairs hallway. There is also a half bath and a laundry room downstairs.
For those who enjoy culinary arts, you’ll love the spacious, fully equipped kitchen. Do you need a pressure cooker, food processor or blender? You’re covered. From gadgets to graters, you’ll have what you need to help you craft anything from a simple breakfast to a celebratory dinner party. There’s ample bar seating at the granite-topped kitchen island. Or a separate dining area for six.
Just off the kitchen is a living area with a pellet stove for those chilly Pacific Northwest evenings.
The two downstairs televisions are wi-fi enabled for streaming (Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc…). You should be able to log-in with your account credentials and watch your favorite shows while curled up next to the fire.
Don’t let the wildness of the surroundings or the two mile drive up the hill fool you into thinking you’re in a desolate wilderness. You’re not far from the necessities and amenities that the Willamette Valley offers. The nearest grocery stores are 18 minutes away. Downtown McMinnville is 22 minutes away, where you can enjoy shopping or dining on Third Street. Or just get your groceries, gas and supplies and head back up the hill!
When you are ready to venture out, the options are plentiful. Carlton (30 minutes away) has several excellent wine-tasting experiences and restaurants. Please enjoy the free wine tasting coupon cards (located in the kitchen) for some of our favorite wineries - reservations are recommended.
The pacific beaches of Lincoln City are an hour’s drive from the property; or visit Silver Falls State Park and it’s spectacular variety of waterfalls (an 80-minute drive).
Expand the radius to two hours, and day trips to Mount Hood, Newport (central coast) and Canon Beach (northern coast) are within reach.
Whatever adventures you choose, make sure to carve out a leisurely day (or two?) to visit some of the Willamette Valley’s nearly 500 wineries. Our home is uniquely situated so that you can reach all major AVAs, and a vast majority of wineries, in 50 minutes or less. Cheers!
Whether it’s waterfalls or wineries or something else entirely, be assured that at the end of the day, relaxation in the forest awaits. We hope you love it here as much as we do!
