This Historical house sleeps up to 14 adults and 3 minors 12yo and younger. Six (6) cars maximum.
Built in 1916, this fantastic house was owned by the Reed family. Sitting front and center on Beulah Reed Road -- named after the wife in the family -- you'll find the Reed family mentioned throughout Oregon. After deeding a sizable land grant which would become part of Oswald West State Park, the Hwy 101 bridge connecting the park to the highway on Neahkahnie mountain is named after the Reed family. Cousins were founding members of Reed College. The family was very involved with work involving the Portland Art Museum and were part of a thriving arts community in the Neahkahnie community.
This wonderful gem of a house was updated in 2014 to it's original glory with modern conveniences to take advantage of the stellar location -- wide swaths of windows to frame unparelled views; restorations of original finishes, new updated kitchen honoring the gracefulness of the house yet with all the modern conveniences you would want in a big cooks kitchen includig an island seating 4, a big great room with original stone fireplace, 180º views and dining area for 14, entertainment and media room, pool table room, ping pong area, beds and bathrooms galore, a third HD TV area and small library, Last but not least, enjoy the huge deck spanning the front of the house and along the side of the house covering a full lot. Nestled into the side yard is your own private fire pit to gather round and roast S'mores or quiet conversation around a fire with a glass of your favorite beverage.
Your master suite awaits with luxurious king bed, a private sitting room area overlooking the ocean and private cozy bathroom with high end Pratt & Larson tile and Waterworks fixtures, encased in marble floors featuring in floor heating.
Bedroom 2 on the second floor is also a king bedroom with generous walk-in closet. Bathroom 2 on the second floor features marble tile with in-floor heating, vintage tub and fixtures, and spacious storage.
Bedrooms 3 and 4 on the third floor are nestled under a high peaked celing, queen beds and ocean views. Bedroom 5 on the third floor features two built in queen beds tucked under the dormer eves and a big dormer ocean view window and window seat.
Bathrooms 3 and 4 are also on the third floor. Each tucked under the eves with high, sloping ceilings, these quaint bathrooms house a claw foot tub and big shower, respectively, and vintage fixtures. Heated marble floors round off the experience.
Bedrooms 6 and 7 are on the first floor and each house two sets of twin bunk beds suited for youth or adults, in addition to lots of storage. Bathroom 5 is also on the first floor with double sinks, luxurious Hansgrohe Rainshower, and heated floors.
