Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: We used this as a stopover town for the first time on our way up from the South to Caen for the convenience and it was very easy to get to and from the Autoroute. We went into central Bourges (about 15 minutes comfortable walk) but because it was a Monday not much was open for evening eating so we ate at the hotel and the food was very good, as was the breakfast the following morning. The room was quiet and the air conditioning worked very well so we had a good night's rest.

Negative: Having travelled for 7 hours on a very hot day it would have been nice to have had a fridge in the room and some cold water (the bar staff were helpful and let us put our warmed water in their fridge to cool down - thank you). Otherwise the room was compact, clean and quite adequate, although we felt quite expensive at just under 140 Euros for one night. I had a bit of concern about the location with a few "characters" loitering around near the car park (which although it had CCTV) was in the open.
