Positive: Spacious and quiet flat ideally located, close to the train station, restaurants and grocery stores (Carrefour City, E. Leclerc) ; large shower cabin ; fast and steady internet ; the Ikea deco that reminded me of my Uni years ; straightforward and responsive communication with the Property Rental NM, the professional conciergerie in charge of this flat. Check-out at 10.45 a.m. instead of the initial "before 10.00 a.m."

Negative: The flat didn't look clean and neat. The kitchen had been neglected, an understatement for dirty. Electric kettle, oven and stove had seen better days, and should be promptly replaced. Washing machine, fridge and micro-wave oven were stained. The rent included a 30-euro cleaning fee. I therefore was not expecting to have to wash up plates, cutlery, glasses, sauce- and frying pans (whose handles need to be tightned) before my first meal. Lack of cooking equipment (not even a pair of scissors, no oven gloves). Greasy hood. No condiment apart from white pepper. I shared remarks and pictures with two representatives of the conciergerie who told me they would be taking corrective action with their contracted cleaning company. I trust their words. This is why I will book this very apartment the next time I stop by Périgueux
