Positive: Close your eyes and try to imagine the perfect spot to spend 5 glorious days in the Dordogne valley in France—imagine a perfect room, spacious and comfortable; imagine thoroughly engaging views from every angle, on stone patios and pebble paths; imagine gracious, kind, generous hosts and amazingly deliciously, fresh, homemade breakfast items that change every day; imagine having truly helpful recommendations for places to visit and see in the area….Now open your eyes and you are at Maison Cistus with your lovely, perennially accommodating hosts, Delphine, Jeff and their furry mop of pure joy, Buddhi! Maison Cistus was the perfect environment to nurture my soul and a soothing balm for my psyche. To walk through the magnificent gardens that they’ve created, on undulating paths with water features, riots of color in flowers and shrubs, and hear birds flying above was heavenly. To return “home” after a day of sightseeing to a comfortable, immaculate, well-appointed room, well, I think I could stay there forever and be a truly contented person! Thanks again to my sweet trio of new friends for sharing your special place with us and for allowing me to enjoy those peaceful, happy moments. Having stayed at Cistus, and met the owners, I’m convinced that there is something, some universality that we all share, something maybe even all seven billion of us living on the planet have with one another…if we only look and love enough.
