This two-story home sits on half an acre of oceanfront property in the Highlands of Gearhart, a peaceful gated community that's home to a golf course and tennis courts. Just beyond the large, grassy lawn - with swings and a play structure to delight your kids - you can follow the carved-out path to reach a gorgeous expanse of uncrowded beach. Yet, it's only a quick five miles to the bustling Seaside Promenade and 14 miles to charming downtown Astoria.
When the weather's fine, there's no shortage of things to do at Elk Ridge. Barbecue on the oceanfront deck, dine alfresco with a soundtrack of crashing waves, and watch your kids play with the provided baseball, soccer, and disc golf equipment in the yard below - or even join in the game yourself.
But the beauty of this house is that it's every bit as fun to cozy up inside, taking in the scene from a bank of rear windows. Snuggle up by the gas fireplace with hot chocolate and a good movie, work on a puzzle at the window-lined dining table, or prepare a special meal in the huge, open kitchen. Escape to the home office (with a monitor and docking station) to fit in a few hours of work, and reconvene in the family room for shuffleboard, Xbox 360, and movies on the big-screen TV.
In the evenings, retire to a sprawling primary suite, another suite with an attached bathroom, and two downstairs guest rooms that are ideal for kids. A home laundry room is also available for your convenience.
