Summary: The Villa itself is pretty and quite unique albeit very dated, but our room (Mimosa) was in the attick, accessed via a narrow and relatively steep staircase which proved difficult with suitcases. The room was large but very basic, and not at all comfortable and not the cleanest. The bathroom was relatively small given the generous size of the room, and narrow - small shower with good water pressure, but the sink had very little water pressure. No amenities in the bathroom, other than a wall mounted body wash dispenser in the shower. There is no front-desk per se, no bar (only refrigerator with over-priced drinks), and extremely limited food options that were pricy for what you get (we paid EUR 29 for two bowls of basic pasta for our kids). There are very limited food options in the immediate area, so figure on making a trip to either Lucca or Pisa for lunch/dinner. Breakfast was a non-event - it normally runs from 08:30am however we explained the need for a 7:30am departure as we needed to make an international flight. Basically no food options - they supplied a yogurt and coffee at 7:30am but that was it. We were left with the impression that the Villa is attended by only one or two staff, who are depended on for everything. Access to the property is via a narrow access road, which wasn't difficult to navigate but parking at the top is quite tight especially if you have a larger vehicle. Overall nice property with tremendous potential, but this was a poor experience for us

Summary: Driving in, it was hard because it was unpaved that should’ve been mentioned and the Hostess told us there’s a restaurant down the road that we could eat that we went there. It was closed then we told her you know what how about you? Should I could provide you sandwiches , they charge us €15 for three bottle’s of tap water’s it was not sealed and I told her .

Summary: We had a lovely stay at villa Alta. The staff were very welcoming, building was historical but modern. Really loved waking up to the birds chirping. Would highly recommend staying here to get away from the hustle and bustle for an authentic counrty feel.

Summary: It was very tranquil but a bit too isolated for us. The staff couldn't do enough for us. It was very hilly.

Summary: This is an amazing Villa located very convenient to Lucca, especially by train. The grounds are immaculate and include a pool, bathhouse, tended garden, and producing olive trees in the back. The front balcony offers a view of Pisa including the leaning tower. We were given the Music room, which is grand with high cooing and large balcony. Our only concern was the bathroom with the doorway being 6 foot tall and made of stone, and my 6 foot 5 inch tall head hitting it several times. Otherwise a fantastic visit.

Summary: Hotel was unique, set up on a hill with nice views of Pisa. Staff pleasant and helpful. Room spacious & comfortable. We were lucky with the weather so made use of the lovely pool, but soo many mosquitos, so be warned!
Highly recommend staying here for the night if travelling between Pisa and Lucca but you do need a car really as Rigoli is an uninspiring village with only one restaurant which was shut the night we were there. The reason I'm not giving 5* is because the dinner option was very limited and just too expensive for what you get, but other than that we really enjoyed our stay, very peaceful and relaxing

Summary: Villa Alta provides beautiful history and art-intense setting, wonderful atmosphere and comfortable conditions for memorable romantic, family or individual stay and events. It is located very close to the cities of Lucca and Pisa, surrounded by the very well-designed and kept Mediterranean garden with the clean and beautiful pool aria. Our family enjoyed peace and quiet at the time of our stay. Food was great, too. We highly recommend this place.
