This ancient villa for rent was built on a natural terrace dominating all the surrounding countryside in the whereabouts of Montaione. An oasis of peace and calm, it is immersed in nature with huge woods of oak and holm-oak trees all around as far as the eyes can see ending with the view of the Appennines in the distance. It was built by the ancient and noble family of Florentine bankers, the Strozzi’s, upon the ruins of an ancient castle and it has reached the present owners after several proprietors. A wing of the large villa has been refurbished into a splendid holiday home, recreating the atmosphere of the ancient lords of the Tuscan countryside. There are numerous ways to spend leisure time, from doing nothing to going for walks on the paths shaded by the woods rich in fauna, to excursions to the nearby towns and cities. In front of the villa, there is a large terrace equipped for outdoor dinners and a swimming pool (4x8, 1.50 – 2.50m deep)(01/05-30/09) for the guests’ exclusive use. The furnishing is mainly antique giving the whole place a special charm. To be requested upon booking and paid for on location: maid, babysitter, chef for lunches and dinners, the possibility of ordering the shopping before arrival, cookery lessons.
